About Us
At Active Rehab Rx, we believe in using an active therapy approach to restore human movement and function. Each of our clinicians have a kinesiology background specializing in musculo-skeletal rehabilitation, and can ensure your treatment plan is right for your body. For more information about our scope of practice, please visit BC Association of Kinesiologists’s website.
Why does all that matter? It means that we believe in working with you to build a program based on your personal history, your current injury status, and your goals for rehabilitation. It means that we believe in meeting you wherever you’re at with your healing. It means that we care.
What We Do:
Injury Prevention: Looking to take a proactive approach to your health? We can identify potential risk factors for injury such as weakness and imbalance and design a plan to ensure you move better and reduce the chances of experiencing injury down the road.
Injury Rehabilitation: We can work with clients from the sub-acute (5 days post) stage of injury, to chronic stages of injury (up to years after).
Rehabilitation Maintenance: Have a previous injury that’s become a chronic issue? Attend our group rehabilitation classes where we continue to build on your rehabilitation status and use active therapy to manage your pain. Classes will be held at our new North Vancouver location-coming soon.
Our Process:
Initial Assessment: We start with a comprehensive consultation to discuss your medical history and rehabilitation goals. We assess posture, range of motion, movement patterns, muscular integrity and strength, muscular imbalances, and pain thresholds. From here, we develop your baseline so we can track your progress moving forwards.
Rehab Plan: Based on your initial assessment, we will develop a personalized plan that’s built for you. You have the option to work independently with a clinician, or participate in group rehabilitation classes at our North Vancouver clinic. Classes are coming soon.
Re-Assessment: Re-Assessments are suggested after four to six weeks to check progress and make any necessary adjustments to your plan after adaptation to the exercises.
