ABout active rehab rx
A safe place to move and get stronger when pain has been holding you back.
We're a small-group rehab clinic in North Vancouver, led by Registered Kinesiologists. We help people get back to moving after an injury, after surgery, or when your body has quietly started to change.
Our Approach
Stability first. Then strength.
We believe that tension isn't fixed by stretching. When a joint is weak or unstable, the small muscles that should steady it switch off. The bigger muscles tighten up to pick up the slack, and the joint gets stiffer and sorer. There's almost always a reason for the tension, and it's usually weakness.
-
Wake up the small muscles
We start with the small stabilizing muscles around your joints, the ones that tend to switch off after an injury and as we get older.
-
Get your joints lined up
Alignment and healthy joint mechanics come next, so your body can move the way it's meant to.
-
Build real strength on top
Once the foundation is steady, we add functional strength: the everyday movements you actually need.
You will be supported every step of the way
Our classes are small on purpose, so you get form corrections the whole way through. Most people are surprised by how much coaching they get, and by how soon they start to feel the difference.
Who We Work With
Starting from scratch or starting over, you're welcome here.
Nearly all of our clients just want to keep moving and know they're doing it safely.
What bring people in:
A surgery a few months back, and no clear idea what's safe to do now.
A regular workout routine and a shoulder that keeps flaring up.
Years away from exercise, and a gym that feels like a lot.
Stairs that got harder, or a back that stiffens up and never quite lets go.

Our Process
What to expect when you start
-
1: Initial Assessment
A one-on-one conversation about your history and goals, plus a look at your posture, range of motion, movement patterns, strength and any muscle imbalances. It gives us a baseline, so we can track real progress.
-
2: Rehab Plan
Based on your assessment, we build a personalized plan. You can work one-on-one with a clinician, or join our small-group classes at the North Vancouver clinic, whichever fits your recovery and your life.
-
3: Book Your First Session With Us
We’ll use your assessment to find the right fit, then map out your next steps together.
Looking to stay ahead of injury instead? Our Prehab classes don't need an assessment. You can book straight in.
Programs and Classes
Program, Rehab Class or Prehab Class
All three are small-group and led by Registered Kinesiologists. The difference is where you're starting from, and how much structure you want around it.
Starting from a specific injury or surgery
Rehab Programs
What it is
A structured three-month program, built around a paid initial assessment so the plan fits your injury. When it wraps up, you can book into Rehab Classes to keep going.
Best if
You want a plan built from the ground up, with a clinician guiding each stage.
Getting started
Book your initial assessment, then we map out your program together.
Managing an injury already
Rehab Classes
What it is
Ongoing small-group classes for musculoskeletal injuries. We work on joint stability and strength, and on the imbalances and compensations an injury leaves behind.
Best if
You're past the acute stage and want to keep rebuilding. You can move into these after finishing a program.
Getting started
Book your initial assessment, then we map out your next steps together.
Staying ahead of injury
Prehab Classes
What it is
Ongoing small-group classes that strengthen the small stabilizing muscles around your joints, to ease stiffness and pain and help with range of motion, strength and fall risk.
Best if
You don't have an injury, but tension, new aches or once-easy tasks are starting to feel harder.
Getting started
No injury and no assessment needed. Book straight in and fill out a short health history.
Meet the Team
The Active Rehab Rx Team
Every clinician here is a Registered Kinesiologist, trained to look at your whole movement system, not just the spot that hurts. They understand the anatomy behind your injury or condition, and they work from a clear protocol, so your care doesn't depend on who's in the room.
In class, that means someone is watching how you move, not just counting reps. Groups stay small so you're corrected as you go, and your plan changes as you get stronger. Whether you are guided by Kerri or by someone else on the team, it's the same approach.
-
Attention to form
Small groups mean the person leading your class can see your form and fix it in the moment.
-
The whole body, not just the sore spot
If your knee hurts, we look at your hips and ankles too, because the cause can often sit somewhere else.
-
A plan that keeps up with you
We check in after four to six weeks and adjust, so the work stays right for where your body is now.

Kerri has spent more than ten years helping people rebuild after injury and surgery, and she teaches Osteo Build, Low Back Rehab, Knee Rehab and Core Combo herself. She started Active Rehab Rx because she wanted people in pain to have a safe place to move and get stronger.
Her approach begins with waking up the small muscles that steady your joints, then builds strength from there, one step at a time.
