Private Corrective Exercise
A plan built around you, not a group
Corrective exercise restores joint stability, strength and range of motion, and untangles the movement compensations an injury leaves behind. In a private session, all of that work is built around your body, your history and your goals.
We work with clients from about a week after an injury to years after it. Some people start here because they are not ready to join a class yet. Others simply prefer one-on-one sessions. Either way, you get a Registered Kinesiologist watching how you move, and a program that adjusts as you do.
Sessions run in our Lower Lonsdale studio. Active Rehab Rx was founded by Kerri Anderson, Registered Kinesiologist, CES.

What people say about Active Rehab RX
-
"Fabulous clinic & staff. I have been working with Kerri & her team for over a year now. I feel stronger and have less flair ups than I used to. The attention to your movement & body positioning allows you to build the correct smaller muscles and relieve the pain. I feel so much stronger than when I first walked into her clinic. Hard work and the right people definitely pay off!!"

"I have been referring patients to Kerri Anderson at Active Rehab Rx for close to five years. She is one of the few kinesiologists that I trust due to the outstanding outcomes I've observed year over year. Additionally, I have recommended her services to multiple colleagues in the chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy and medicine professions."

"I've been a big fan of Active Rehab Rx for several years. Initially I went in to successfully rehab a shoulder injury, and have continued to attend rehab and now pre-hab classes. The workouts are challenging (with modifications as needed), interesting, and varied. I've found them extremely beneficial in increasing my strength and ability to safely perform recreational activities as well as general day to day activities. Staff is committed to doing it right. Thank you Kerri and Jeremy!"

At Active Rehab Rx, private corrective exercise sessions are $75 for 30 minutes, $110 for 45 minutes and $125 for 1 hour. Your first visit is a 1 hour initial assessment at $155. A 10-session package brings the 1 hour rate down to $100 per session.

No. You can book a private session with a Registered Kinesiologist without a referral. Some extended health plans ask for one before they reimburse you, so check your policy before you book
-
A Registered Kinesiologist is trained in human movement science, anatomy and active injury rehabilitation, so the focus is on restoring how your body moves after an injury or surgery. A personal trainer typically focuses on general fitness and performance goals. If you’re managing pain, a diagnosis or a recovery, a kinesiologist is a good starting point.

Yes. ICBC will fund private sessions.

They work well together. Corrective exercise is an exercise-based approach: we restore joint stability, strength and movement so the problem doesn’t keep coming back. Many clients see a physiotherapist or doctor alongside their sessions, and we’re happy to coordinate with them.
-
We work with clients from about a week after an injury to years after it. That includes shoulder, low back, hip and knee injuries, recovery after surgery, joint pain and stiffness, and the ongoing effects of osteoarthritis or osteoporosis.
-
Choose private sessions if you want one-on-one attention, you’re not ready for a group yet, or your injury needs closer guidance. Many people start privately and move into a Rehab or Prehab class once they feel confident. We’ll help you decide at your assessment.
